Maria Charry-Vera

Accountant

  • Maria Charry-Vera is the Accountant of the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation and has held that position since 1998.  She reports to the Controller and serves as a key member of the Foundation’s financial management team, carrying out a broad range of accounting functions in support of all aspects of the Foundation’s grantmaking and administrative activities.  Among her responsibilities, she serves as a gatekeeper for all Foundation expenses and authorizations, managing the grant payment and accounts payable processes.  She also supports the Senior VP., Finance and Operations in preparation of quarterly trustee meeting books, annual audit process, and annual budget process through generation of multiple detailed schedules and reports.  Prior to joining the Foundation, Maria worked in the Finance department of one of the world’s most successful consulting firms: First Manhattan Consulting Group.

    Maria graduated from Montclair State University in 1986 with a B.S. in Business Administration and a minor in Marketing.
