Chris Richardson

Communications Officer

  • Chris is the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation’s Communications Officer. He has helped develop our communications strategy, expand our presence on digital marketing channels, and showcase our impact through an annual print magazine and new online platform, impact.sloan.org. Ultimately, Chris strengthens the work of our grantees and programs with effective strategic communications.

Prior to joining the Foundation, Chris held communications posts with a body representing a group of medical doctors in London, England, and at an interdisciplinary graduate university in Okinawa, Japan. He has also worked in pharmaceuticals, technology startups, and management consulting, and has a wealth of experience with nonprofits in Africa, Asia, Europe, and Latin America.

Chris holds a B.S. in Biology and an M.S. in Science Communication from Imperial College London, where he also served as the Editor-in-Chief of the university’s quarterly science digest. He is a Google-trained digital marketer, CNN-trained media relations specialist, and TED-trained public speaker—and he strongly believes in the ability of science to make the world a better place.
