Dan Kashner is the Program Associate for the Sloan Foundation's program in Economics. His responsibilities include developing, evaluating, and managing grant proposals in the Economics program. He also reviews and improves the empirical methods proposed by prospective grantees in Sloan's other programs.
Prior to joining the Foundation, Kashner worked as a consultant at McKinsey & Company after earning his Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Chicago, where his dissertation examined public policy opinion formation. Kashner earned a Master of Mathematical Sciences from The Ohio State University, lived in China as an ESL teacher and Foreign Language and Area Studies fellow, and earned his Bachelor of Arts in International Studies from the University of Memphis.
