Dan joined the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation in May 2024 as the Program Associate for its program in Economics. His responsibilities include developing, evaluating, and managing grant proposals in the Economics program. He also reviews and improves the empirical methods proposed by prospective grantees in Sloan's other programs.
Prior to joining the Foundation, Dan worked as a consultant at McKinsey & Company after earning his Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Chicago, where his dissertation examined public policy opinion formation. Before attending the University of Chicago, Dan earned a Master of Mathematical Sciences from The Ohio State University, lived in China as an ESL teacher and Foreign Language and Area Studies fellow, and earned his Bachelor of Arts in International Studies from the University of Memphis.
