Valicia Browne is the Program Associate for the Public Understanding of Science and Technology Program, where she helps develop and manage grantmaking at the intersection of science and the arts. Prior to joining the Foundation in June 2026, Browne served as Project Manager for the $1 billion LifeSci NYC initiative at the New York City Economic Development Corporation, where she helped fund STEM workforce development programs and support life sciences entrepreneurship across the city. Before that, she worked at NBCUniversal as an Entertainment Coordinator, supporting production across Universal Television Entertainment Group's unscripted portfolio — including Bravo, Peacock, Syfy, Oxygen, E!, and USA Network — on franchises such as The Real Housewives, Below Deck, Vanderpump Rules, and Summer House.
Browne recently completed her Master of Public Health at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, where she earned certificates in Health Communication and Gender & Health. Her graduate work focused on the power of narrative and storytelling to promote positive health behaviors and bridge societal divides. She holds Bachelor of Arts degrees in Medicine, Health & Society and Theatre from Vanderbilt University.
