As Director of Information Technology and Grants Management, David Cohen leads the Foundation's technology and grants operations functions, overseeing the systems and infrastructure that support the Foundation's grantmaking. He works closely with staff across the Foundation to translate operational needs into durable systems. Among other responsibilities, he leads strategic IT planning, manages the Foundation's enterprise systems, and oversees grants management operations and administration.
Prior to joining the Foundation, Cohen worked in a series of technology roles at the University of Texas at Austin. As IT Manager for the Identity and Access Management team, he led engineers and business analysts in building and supporting the university's central IAM systems. Earlier, as a lead developer on the university's custom Human Resource Management System, he set up the team's development tooling, built core infrastructure for caching, search, and file attachments, and architected the authorization system.
Cohen earned a B.A. in Philosophy from Cornell University in 2006.
